If you want to have your beautiful smartphone by your side AT ALL TIMES, you could: a) place it on your desk amidst papers and other clutter b) set it in your lap as you watch TV hoping that it doesn't get lost in the couch c) buy a Tech-Grip adjustable mount. It can be installed in any position in just a few seconds and will keep your phone or device within arms reach. I'd say option c) is the  best.
